Oud Naikhongchhari - Burma Bangladesh Border

Name : Oud Naikhongchari

Species : Aquilaria Malecensis 

Origin : Zero Point, Naikhongchari, Bandarban District, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Close to the border between Bangladesh and Myanmar.

For a long time now we wanted to collect Oud from the Chittagong Hills. Ever since we heard a Distiller/Agarwood trader from Sylhet praise the wood of Chittagong saying that Oud from Chittagong Pahars (Chittagongs Hills), we went after it. But it was hard. Compared to Sylhet, The business of Agarwood is smaller in these Hills. Some parts of these hills are risky due to the volatile situation created by several armed ethnic groups but it is Bordered and protected by the Bangladesh Border Guard.

We didn't go to those risky parts of the Mountain. This oud is from a peaceful Garden owned by a Chittagonian. A garden in the hills of Naikhongchari. While Sylhet and Moulvibazar shares the border with Assam. Naikhongchari shares it with Burma.
