A word before we begin. Sultan Maharaja Jasmine is built on a co-distilled Churon oud from Sylhet and Assam, and it does not ask for permission. It is strong, potent and unapologetically oudy — composed for the seasoned oud lover whose nose has long made peace with the darker side of agarwood. A Throne That Knew Both

Few thrones in the subcontinent can say they were sat upon by both a Maharaja and a Sultan. Mysore can. The Wodeyar Maharajas before and after — and in between, Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore.

Now imagine an evening in that court. The arches are strung with jasmine garlands, the kind that only really wake up after dark. Sandalwood — the royal tree, guarded by law — is everywhere: in the carved doors, in the smoke. And from somewhere behind a curtain, a brass burner is working through a handful of Hindi oud from the east, from Assam and Sylhet, filling the hall with that heavy, sweet, unmistakable smoke.

Three scents. Each one a sovereign in its own right. What happens if you put all three in a single bottle and leave them alone — no fillers, nothing to hide behind — until they become one?

The Smoke: Assam & Sylhet Co-Distilled Churon Oud

In the oud trade, the shavings and dust of incense-grade agarwood have a name: Churon. The oil in Sultan Maharaja Jasmine is distilled from incense-grade Churon of Assam and Sylhet, co-distilled together. What comes out is dark, incense-laden and deeply woody, with a strange, almost aggressive sweetness running through it. Not fruity. Not candied. The old Hindi oudy sweetness — the kind a seasoned nose recognises in a heartbeat, and a newcomer finds a little unsettling.

The Garland: Distilled Jasmine Sambac

Most jasmine you meet in perfumery is an absolute — floral, bright and clean. This is not that. This is pure Jasmine Sambac oil, distilled, and distillation does something to jasmine: it keeps the flower and draws out the animal. Narcotic, floral, dark, seductive, a little dirty, unmistakably animalic. Naturally distilled jasmine is simply like this — the garland after midnight rather than the garland at noon.

The Throne: Mysore Sandalwood

The king of sandalwoods. Tipu Sultan declared sandalwood a Rajavriksha — a royal tree. Later laws went so far that a landowner could not fell a sandalwood tree even on his own land; they were only relaxed in 2001–02. To this day, the santalol content of Mysore sandalwood is held up as the benchmark in the ISO standard. Next to sandalwood from other regions, Mysore is creamier, softer and far smoother — and here it is the throne the other two sit on.

Three Sovereigns, One Court

Put these three in the same room and they don't compete — they hold court. The Churon's smoke and strange sweetness, the jasmine's narcotic, animal pulse, the sandalwood's cream beneath it all. The result is oudy, dark and mysterious: a Sultani blend in every sense, where the beauty of three precious natural ingredients surfaces on its own, unforced.

সুলতান মহারাজা জেসমিন নিয়ে বিবরণী দেয়ার আগে তিনটি ইনগ্রেডিয়েন্টস নিয়ে কিছু কথা বলা যাক। এর আগেই বলে রাখি এই আতরটিতে সিলেট এবং আসামের কো-ডিস্টিল্ড উদ অয়েল ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে তাই এটি শুধু পুরোনো/ম্যাচিউর ব্যবহারকারীদের পছন্দ হওয়ার কথা। খুবই স্ট্রং এবং পোটেন্ট। ফ্রেশ অথবা সুইট ফ্রেগরেন্স পছন্দ হলে এটির পরিবর্তে অন্যান্য অয়েলগুলো আপনার জন্য আরো বেশি সুটেড হতে পারে, ইন শা আল্লাহ।

তিনটি ইনগ্রেডিয়েন্টস

১- Assam/Sylhet Co-Distilled Churon Oud
ইন্সেন্স গ্রেড উদ শেভিংস/ডাস্টকে বলা হয় Churon. আসাম এবং সিলেটের ইন্সেন্স গ্রেড উদ ডাস্ট থেকে তৈরি করা অয়েল ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে সুলতান মহারাজা জেসমিন আতরে। বেশ ডার্ক, ইন্সেন্সি, ডিপ উডি নোটস এবং খানিকটা অদ্ভুত ধরণের এগ্রেসিভ সুইটনেস। হিন্দি উদি সুইটনেসের কথা বলছি, ফ্রুটি সুইটনেস মোটেও নয়।

২- Jasmine Sambac
খুব নার্কোটিক, ফ্লোরাল, ডার্ক, সিডাক্টিভ, কিছুটা Dirty এবং Animalic, Pure Jasmine Oil ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। ন্যাচারাল ডিস্টিল করা জেসমিন এমনই হয়। অ্যাবসোলুটসগুলো হয় আরো ফ্লোরাল এবং ক্লিন। ডিস্টিল করলে ফ্লোরাল নোটের সাথে একটি স্ট্রং, অ্যানিমালিক ক্যারেক্টার পাওয়া যায়।

৩- Mysore Sandalwood
চন্দনের রাজা। টিপু সুলতান চন্দনকে "রাজবৃক্ষ" ঘোষণা করেছিলেন। পরে এমন আইন হয় যে নিজের জমির চন্দন গাছও মালিক কাটতে পারতেন না — ২০০১-০২ সালে আইন শিথিল হয়। Mysore Sandalwood এর santalol এর পরিমাণ আজও ISO কর্তৃক আদর্শ ধরা হয়। অন্যান্য অঞ্চলের চন্দনের থেকে Mysore এর অনেক বেশি Creamy, Soft, এবং Smooth.
